Donald Wuerl, the Church’s Most Oblivious Cleric

The cardinal’s repeated denials of knowledge and responsibility for sexual-abuse cover-ups defy all credibility.  The Catholic Church’s nightmare of a summer began with Theodore McCarrick. After news broke about his past sexual misconduct, including the abuse of minors, he resigned from the College of Cardinals and was exiled to a life of prayer and penance, out of the public eye. But the Archdiocese of Washington, which McCarrick once oversaw, remains very much in the eye of the storm.  There, McCarrick’s direct successor, the embattled cardinal Donald Wuerl, clings to his leadership role, even after weeks of criticism and calls for his resignation. He has done little to silence them and much to bring further censure upon himself.  Read more:

South Carolina Gov Slams Judge Who Blocked Planned Parenthood Defunding: “Abortion is What PP Does”

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster is not giving up on his promise to protect his state taxpayers from funding the largest abortion group in America, Planned Parenthood.  McMaster said he plans to contest a judge’s ruling blocking his efforts.  “My position is the taxpayers of South Carolina who do not support the promotion of abortion should not have to support with their tax money the promotion of abortion, and that’s what Planned Parenthood does any way you look at it,” McMaster told reporters.  In July, McMaster took a bold stance against the abortion industry by vetoing a health care spending bill that included tax dollars for Planned Parenthood.  Read more:

CA Dems Can’t Get Over In-N-Out

The radical left in California has chosen its next crusade: boycott the iconic burger chain In-N-Out. The California Democrat Party is calling for an immediate boycott of the West Coast burger chain after it was learned In-N-Out dropped $25,000 to help elect Republicans in the state. Steve Greenhut of the Sacramento-based R-Street Institute reacted to the Democratic complaints. “In what world can a company not donate to one of the two major parties in the United States?” he tells OneNewsNow. “That’s worthy of a boycott? I mean, that’s silly.” In-N-Out enjoys a cult-like following among its loyal customers, including among California liberals. Read more:

Couple Who Refused Abortion, Entrusted Son to ‘God’s Hands’ after Being Told Condition was Terminal, Learns Doctors Misdiagnosed Baby

The Corpsteins were told that their child, who was diagnosed with hydranencephaly, would only last for days, at the most, after birth. They were recommended two options, both of which meant ending their baby’s life: obtain an abortion, or induce premature labor now in the hospital.  However, Ariann knew that she couldn’t take the matter into her own hands. She and her husband determined to trust God, no matter the outcome.  “I’m so glad that she was so strong in her foundation,” said her husband Drew.  Last month, Ariann gave birth in a neonatal hospice unit, and to the surprise of all, he breathed and nursed on his own just fine.  Read more:

The prison service has apologized after Karen White, who was previously known as David Thompson, admitted to two counts of sexual assault against two women while in prison, while a judge ordered two further charges of sex attacks on fellow inmates to remain on file.  White, who had previously been jailed for 18 months in 2001 after committing offences of indecent assault and gross indecency with a child, carried out the first attack within days of arriving at the all-women prison, according to prosecutor Charlotte Dangerfield. The Shocking Story behind Cardinal Wuerl’s Lavish Lifestyle and Impending Departure

“Wuerl lives in a palatial, multi-million-dollar penthouse on Embassy Row where he employs a “personal chef” who would spend twelve hours a day at his opulent pad (according to an informed source in the neighborhood) and park his flashy White Mercedes not in the employee parking lot but in the cardinal’s personal garage.  Wuerl is sheltering his child rapist-predecessor, Theodore McCarrick, at a $2.3 million, archdiocesan-owned mansion on the edge of American University Law School.  Wuerl is furtively building a costly retirement pad for himself at John Paul II Seminary (Wuerl was so upset about this disclosure that he had three police cars and a security goon search for me on the seminary grounds one night, according to a well-placed source).  Video at site:
