LGBTQ Activists Use Leftist Tactics to Split a Church

The United Methodist Church Book of Discipline clearly states that “The practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching. … Therefore self-avowed practicing homosexuals are not to be certified as candidates, ordained as ministers, or appointed to serve in The United Methodist Church.” Instances of violations of the UMC’s Book of Discipline concerning the ordination of homosexual clergy, and clergy conducting same-sex marriage ceremonies, increase yearly.  They are largely ignored by the hierarchy, and worn as a badge of honor by the violators.  Perhaps the most publicized example of pushing the boundaries of the UMC’s stated beliefs concerning these issues is the case of Bishop Karen Oliveto, the first openly lesbian bishop in The United Methodist Church.  Read more:
