Brass knuckles, Prohibited Items Seized in Charlottesville

Officials in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday seized prohibited items such as brass knuckles and razorblades from those passing through security checkpoints around the city, according to the Associated Press. Law enforcement reportedly arrested a local resident for buying razorblades, a banned item, from the city’s downtown area, according to a tweet from local outlet, the C-Ville Weekly’s, Twitter account.  Authorities are checking for banned items at checkpoints throughout Charlottesville in an attempt to preclude any potential violence on the anniversary of last year’s deadly “Unite the Right” rally, which ended with a man with alleged neo-Nazi ties driving his car into a crowd of counter-protesters, killing local resident, Heather Heyer.
